São Paulo to Atlanta

Atlanta to the World

Liel Vini, born as Eliel Rodrigues in the vibrant city of São Paulo, Brazil, has been surrounded by music from a young age. His grandmother, a pastor, introduced him to gospel music, while his father played drums and sang in the church. These early experiences laid the foundation for his lifelong passion for music.

At the age of six, Liel moved to the big city, where he began singing in local churches and soon gained local attention. He was offered a scholarship to study popular Brazilian music, which led to performances on major stages in the city and seven regional singing competition wins.

In 2011, Liel participated in the TV show Brazilian Idol, gaining national notoriety and a band that traveled with him for a small tour in the southern region of Brazil. The following year, he won a scholarship to study Music Education and Bossa Nova at the University Sagrado Coração in Bauru, São Paulo. During his studies, he won another singing competition, which gave him the prize of studying music in the United States for a semester.

In 2014, Liel moved to Atlanta, GA, where he deepened his music education knowledge and learned English for the first time. He was offered a partial assistantship by Georgia State University to finish his studies in the United States. In 2016, he won third place in National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), a state-wide singing competition, which opened the door to new opportunities.

In 2017, Liel had the opportunity to perform with a choir for Andrea Bocelli, performing for thousands of people in Atlanta. That same year, he went on tour with Grammy nominee Sarah Brightman. In 2018, he was invited to perform in a midnight mass choir in Salzburg, Austria, representing Atlanta in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Silent Night.

From 2018 to 2022, Liel focused on teaching music while consistently producing his material. He was a guest speaker at the State and National Conferences for Music Educators, which gave him an incredible opportunity to change jobs. He used this time to write and produce music non-stop, drawing inspiration from his personal struggles with mental health.

Finally, in 2023, Liel began releasing his original music and video covers, quickly gaining over 5K followers on Instagram. His music is heavily influenced by Amy Winehouse and Brazilian artists, but also by his personal experiences with mental health. Liel is a gay man who is happily married to his husband, Justin. His trauma in 2020 resulted in the writing of 27 songs, which he is slowly releasing to the world.

Liel's music is honest and vulnerable, allowing listeners to connect with him on a deeper level. He hopes that his music can provide comfort and healing to those who need it. With his unique sound and personal touch, Liel Vini is a rising star in the music industry.
